On February 1, 2016, NECIC successfully launched a social enterprise nonprofit staffing service called Temp2Higher.Our proposed VISTA project is for our Workforce Development programming. The purpose of the service was to provide temporary employment for individuals in a 25-mile radius of Richland County. Straying from the traditional staffing service approach, Temp2Higher does not aim to keep individuals in temporary employment, but instead strives to transition them to permanent full-time employment with the supports in place to assist them in securing and maintaining employment. Just shy of completing our first year, our staffing service has had 124 individuals transition from temporary to full-time permanent employment.
