Economic & Community Development Institute VISTA-Cleveland

The Economic & Community Development Institute (ECDI) is an Ohio-based 501(c)(3) non-profit economic development organization founded in 2004. As the third largest US SBA intermediary micro-lender and a US Treasury designated Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), ECDI's mission is to invest in people to create measurable and enduring social and economic change. At ECDI Cleveland, the Professional Advisory Network (PAN) connects entrepreneurs to counselors that provide assistance specific to their business needs. The VISTA will help to strengthen the counseling program by increasing interaction between advisors and coaches, while marketing the program and other-related ECDI and WBC training services to the community. Additionally, the VISTA will work as an essential part of a highly skilled team, which includes the Director of The Women’s Business Center, to assess, evaluate, and implement current trainings to WBC clients, as well as develop and implement a new WBC Cohort Coaching Circle, comprised of WBC clients. The VISTA will work closely with selected cohorts of WBC members and coordinate training opportunities, networking events, and coaching opportunities, increasing ECDI’s capacity to address the specific needs and barriers to self-employment of Cleveland’s low-to-moderate income community.
