This VISTA position is hosted by Franklinton Gardens (FG). FG is a nonprofit urban farm that is dedicated to growing and sharing food, creating beauty, and building community with neighbors. FG operates a network of food production sites, manages a community food distribution system, and hosts various educational programs and community events. The Sustainability VISTA will assist with the following: Identifying environmentally sustainable practices and technologies for use in urban agriculture; Integrating said practices and technologies into FG’s operation; Conducting community engagement and education about environmental sustainability; Tracking and reporting of sustainability-related data sets. Qualifications: Interest in environmental sustainability and community building; Commitment to justice and equitable community for all people; Capacity to execute tasks independently and as part of a team; Experience working with vulnerable populations; Basic computer literacy.
