CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA Leader

Candidates must successfully complete at least one year of VISTA service, or one full term of full-time service (serving 1,770 hours or more) with either AmeriCorps State and National or AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), or at least one traditional term of Peace Corps service to be eligible for the VISTA Leader position. Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic (CCMA) is a non-profit membership association of public, private, 2- and 4-year colleges and universities. CCMA provides leadership to colleges and universities in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware by advocating, supporting, and encouraging institutional participation in academic and co-curricular based public service and civic engagement programs. CCMA strengthens the capacity of member institutions to enhance student learning and to meaningfully engage with communities. The CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA Leader will work directly with the 35 CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA members placed at higher education institutions across the Maryland-DC-Delaware region to encourage and promote the expansion of service and quality campus-community partnerships. The role of the CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA Leader is divided into two primary responsibilities: 1) supporting the 35 CCMA AmeriCorps VISTAs and their host-campuses in program development and sustainability, and 2) developing the capacity of Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic. The VISTA Leader will work with the 35 CCMA AmeriCorps VISTAs and their supervisors, not directly with college students or community members. Applicants must have previous experience as an AmeriCorps member. Please visit www.ccmidatlantic.org to learn more about Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic, the CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA project abstracts, and upcoming events and workshops. The VISTA Leader will support a cohort of CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA members that are committed to P20 CONNECTS, achieving equity through college, career, and civic readiness. Experience in the education field is preferred.
