1 Plate Full at a Time, Family Services Specialist

Begun in 1971, CRC became an independent 501c3 in 1973. Today as a community based social service agency, CRC delivers a wide arrange of human services in response to an identified need within a defined geographic area. CRC is comprised of a food pantry, senior programming, youth services, and Kinship Care. Family Services (FS) operates a Choice Food Pantry and provides community resource referrals for low income individuals and families. Every pantry visit, families receive 7-10 days of shelf-stable food and access to weekly fresh produce. CRC stocks non-food material assistance like clothes, toys, baby items, and diapers. The agency also holds annual school supply drives, sponsors holiday help/gifts and hosts children’s summer meals. The program serves as an Ohio Benefit Bank location where staff and volunteers help individuals and families determine eligibility for around 20 different government programs. FS also maintains community gardens, hosts community meals, provides much needed holiday-time assistance, and links residents with many other health and social care services.
