ShareCorps - Thea Bowman Center - Summer Associate
 
 
 
Provides services to 8,000 men, women, and children annually. The center provides food support in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Foodbank weekly. We serve a hot buffet lunch every Saturday to an average of 175 clients in partnership with five local churches. The center has an after-school program that includes a partnership with the foodbank to provide food to children in the community. We also provide a youth summer program for about 45 youth (k-8) in partnership with the foodbank's summer meal program. We provide an after-school program at one of the local schools for about 20 children. We also work with adults seeking to complete their high school education.

Member Duties : VISTA member will work with other staff or may be assigned as a team leader to support site. Member will facilitate learning lessons with youth as well as conducting computer research. VISTA will have direct contact with children and potentially with some parents. VISTA will assist with field trip supervision.
