Providence Children's Museum AmeriCorps Program

Providence Children's Museum is an active place where kids, parents and educators play and learn together. Join MuseumCorps and be part of a team that designs and leads programs for inner-city children in the greater Providence area. Create hands-on "Learning Clubs" for elementary school-aged children in after-school and summer programs, lead activities in Head Start pre-schools, and recruit and mentor volunteers who facilitate play and learning in the Museum's exhibits. Members will be assigned to serve on a service team, facilitate learning in the Museum's hands-on exhibits and programs, and participate in scheduled training sessions at the Museum and through the AmeriCorps program. The AmeriCorps program at the Providence Children’s Museum is made possible through an annual grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service. How to apply: [Please note that funding is pending CNCS approval.] Applicants must complete the online AmeriCorps application and process; and complete a personal statement. For more information, and instructions for completing the personal statement, visit http://www.childrenmuseum.org/ameriCorps.asp
