Free Clinics - The Breathing Association (1)

The Breathing Association was founded as the Tuberculosis Society in 1906. For the last 110 years, we have provided medical care, with a focus on lung health, to low-income and under-served patients. Today, we currently provide under-insured and uninsured patients medical care with a focus on pulmonary health, combined with a utility assistance program and COPD, asthma outreach programs. Our mission is to help people breathe easier, one person at a time, through education, detection, care and treatment. We are seeking a VISTA Member to grow the awareness of The Breathing Association by garnering the support of advocates, and making services more accessible to those who need them.

Member Duties : Develop prospecting plan for both advocates (individual, organization and corporate) and mobile medical unit sites. This goal would include identification of strategic partners, cold calling and relationship building. Develop and maintain scheduling program with Medicare/Medicaid insurance providers, host sites and community resources to ensure high efficiency at each mobile visit/clinic day Organize and promote fundraising campaigns Expand volunteer engagement through volunteer recruitment at prospective businesses and social organizations.
