2017-18 Volunteer Iowa: Keokuk Workforce Development VISTA

The SET* Confluence Workforce Development VISTA member will work to increase awareness and utilization of workforce opportunities and trainings in the SET Confluence region (Lee County, Iowa, Clark County, Missouri and Hancock County, Illinois). This will be done by working with workforce development, educational institutions, economic development organizations, employers and potential employees. The VISTA member will be guided by a steering committee comprised of SET regional leaders representing the above organizations. This is a 3 step program: 1. VISTA member will develop a regional workforce opportunities guide containing resources with contact information 2. VISTA member will create and launch a comprehensive social media outreach and marketing program using the information collected in the workforce opportunities guide to increase awareness and utilization of workforce opportunities in and around the region. 3. VISTA member will work with service industry volunteers to create a hospitality training program that can be implemented in employee orientation and trainings. * SET (Stronger Economies Together) USDA Rural Development designation
