2018-19 Herron High School VISTA Program

Herron High School seeks three Americorps VISTA members to improve our fundraising, marketing, and community outreach efforts during a critical time of organizational growth. The VISTA members will collectively help the organization implement new programs and improvements to its marketing and communication structures, donor engagement and alumni relations program, community outreach and enrollment systems. We need committed, passionate leaders who have a strong desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of youth and the city to join us in this effort. Will you join us?

Member Duties : Herron High School seeks candidates that have a track record of success and are seeking an opportunity for professional growth with guidance from education and non-profit leaders. We are a community of scholars committed to preparing world-class citizens and engaging in urban renewal on Indianapolis’ near northside. As the city's highest-ranked public high school, we have a graduation rate of more than 99 percent and serve 830 students in grades 9 – 12. Our success is fueled by a classical, liberal arts curriculum and a commitment to diversity: about 40 percent of our students are low-income or a minority. Herron High School is opened its second school, Riverside High School, in Indianapolis in fall 2017. The new school will serve 575 students in grades 9 – 12, using the same classical, liberal arts model as Herron High School. Together, the schools will provide the highest quality education available in Indianapolis to almost 1,500 students each year.
