Public & School Partnership - Stokes Nature Center
 
 
 
This position, hosted by the Public & School Partnership (PSP) AmeriCorps VISTA program, supports Stokes Nature Center's community outreach initiatives and is located in Logan, UT. The mission of Stokes Nature Center is to "provide opportunities for students of all ages to explore, learn about and develop appreciation and stewardship for our natural world." This position supports the AmeriCorps VISTA mission by training the participant in the field of community outreach; giving them hands-on experience designing and implementing programs to improve outreach to low-income and disadvantaged youth and families, working with volunteers, promoting and coordinating community outreach efforts, and cultivating sustainable partnerships with community organizations and corporations. Our ideal candidate will be excited to work with the community at large and SNC staff. The VISTA, who will serve as a Stokes community coordinator, needs to be an organized, collaborative, independent worker who is passionate about SNC’s mission and will be a positive ambassador for environmental education in the local community.

Member Duties : This full-time, one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position with the Public & School Partnership supports Stokes Nature Center in Logan, UT. The VISTA member working with Stokes Nature Center's Department of Education will build capacity and ensure sustainability of the organization by coordinating the organization's scholarship program, coordinating volunteers, and engaging in strategic community outreach activities. The VISTA, who will serve as a Stokes community coordinator, needs to be an organized, collaborative, independent worker who is passionate about SNC’s mission and will be a positive ambassador for environmental education in the local community.
