Bethany Christian Services Employment Specialist
 
 
 
Bethany Christian Services Refugee Employment program seeks to assist clients on their journey to self-sufficiency. Keeping in mind cultural, language, and skill sets, the team assists clients in finding and applying to appropriate jobs. The VISTA Member will work along side the Job Developer to assist in developing new and ongoing relationships with local employers in order to find job opportunities for refugee clients appropriate to their level of English and work history. Member will maintain ongoing communication with employers to be aware of retention needs. Member will expand knowledge of the employment program's services in the local business community.

Member Duties : Duties will include: 1) Recruit and retain community and business partnerships that will aide clients in the ability to gain employment and/or job skills to be utilized in gaining employment; 2) Build capacity for bus training program; 3) Develop innovative strategies to assist refugees who need transportation; 4) Maintain database covering refugee's employment.
