Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative, The Bronx

Children's Aid was founded in 1853 to counter the stresses of poverty and provide children and families with the resources that will enable them to succeed and thrive. Distinguished as a leader in the fields of child welfare and youth development, Children's Aid maintains a steadfast commitment to first-rate, front-line services as well as groundbreaking programs that demonstrate how to best serve children, particularly those living in poverty. Children's Aid is honored to have been designated by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. to coordinate the Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative (ESPRI) on behalf of The Bronx. This initiative is enabling The Bronx and 15 other localities across the state to develop and implement innovative plans that will reduce poverty among New Yorkers. Now that a yearlong planning process that included input from a cross-section of stakeholders has concluded, Bronx ESPRI is shifting into its implementation phase.
