Come serve with Workforce Solution of Greater Dallas’s Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program and experience Dallas’s active business and cultural scene while making a vital difference in the community. Workforce Solutions implements a system of services that complement economic development - as a resource for employers to access the quality employees they need, and training individuals to be successfully employed. Workforce Solutions administers a broad range of programs to address local workforce issues including job training, workplace education, child care and educational initiatives to provide the necessary support for every citizen of Greater Dallas to be successful at work. Because of their unique and effective approach, Workforce Solutions is considered by many to be a national model for addressing the expanding scope of work-related issues.

Member Duties : The Texas Adult Education and Literacy Capacity Building VISTA will build organizational capacity to fight poverty by increasing local capacity to serve eligible individuals in federal adult education and literacy (AEL) programs. AmeriCorps VISTA member will be responsible for mapping processes and systems for strategic partners including outreach, recruitment, intake, retention, etc. to help learn and share best practices. Additionally, the VISTA will help develop strategies to navigates students from the waitlist through enrollment in the program. This program serves individuals who lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to enable the individuals to function effectively in society; do not have a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent, have not achieved an equivalent level of education; or are unable to speak, read, or write the English language.
