| Member Duties : The Welcoming San Jose Community VISTA will develop projects, engage collaborative partners, and increase awareness of local efforts to improve linguistic integration, economic integration, home ownership and civic participation of new Americans such that poverty among refugees and immigrants decreases in participating municipalities. The VISTA will accomplish this by identifying linguistic and cultural barriers to inclusion for City services for immigrant residents and developing a plan to mitigate these barriers; increasing immigrant participation in civic engagement activities; and expanding access to information and resources about the naturalization process.
