Chisholm Trail RSVP-Youth Believing In Change (Dallas)

Youth Believing in Change (YBC) provides the spiritual and educational foundation for building character to develop leaders who will serve others, love one another and apply these virtues to their daily lives. Founded in 1995, Youth Believing in Change (YBC) is a faith-based organization offering after school and summer programs to elementary students in the Vickery Meadow Community in Dallas, TX. YBC serves more than 200 children from September through May, hosting after school programs which includes hot meals, tutoring, mentoring and homework help. YBC also offers an eight-week summer program during June and July that mirrors regular school hours. Summer curriculum includes music, art enrichment, leadership and other educational efforts. The Volunteer Coordination VISTA at YBC will build capacity through the development of a volunteer program and recruitment and training of 20 volunteers. AmeriCorps VISTA members perform only indirect service; interaction with clients will be limited and the member will spend the majority of his or her time in an office setting. However, the YBC Volunteer Coordination VISTA will play a dynamic role in ending poverty by recruiting volunteers to augment classroom support. As a YBC VISTA you will be part of a cohort coordinated by the AmeriCorps VISTA North Texas project at Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. Early applications strongly encouraged.
