Member Duties : Develop understanding of Portland community, educational history of low-income children and children of color, and understand how impacting education can eradicate poverty in the community. Develop a culturally specific family engagement program to increase parent involvement and improve the overall educational outcomes of middle and high school students, fostering interactive conversations between students and parents in education, profession and economics.
Create volunteer opportunities to engage parents, guardians and adult siblings in lead volunteer positions to further connect them to the development of their students and improve academic performance and engagement.
