GRID Alternatives is the nation’s largest nonprofit solar installer, serving families throughout California, Colorado, the Mid-Atlantic region, and tribal communities nationwide. Our Energy For All Program offers single-family, multifamily and community solar installation services, project development and technical assistance, and we offer multiple levels of workforce development and service learning opportunities, from volunteerism to in-depth solar training. In addition, GRID’s international program partners with communities in Nicaragua, Nepal and Mexico to address their energy access issues.

Member Duties : The Programs VISTA will direct their attention to activities supporting cross-departmental collaboration of the development, outreach and construction teams. Including applying for grants and philanthropic donations. Creating systems to capture photos, relevant quotes, stories from fieldwork, and important regional events. Having these resources on hand will allow the development team to streamline and strengthen their application process by pulling from a “library” of resources. The VISTA will also support the residential teams with pre-screening and post-installation processes. Assist with preparation for canvassing including organizing routes and materials. Create and lead a recruitment campaign - solar ambassadors, mailer campaigns, etc. Assist with improving systems and processes used to conduct residential site visits. Preview and prep for site visits and assist with post-site visit paperwork. Assist with design layout.
