Asset Integrator - NeighborImpact - (Bend, OR)

NeighborImpact, located in Bend, Oregon, supports people and strengthens communities and is dedicated to building a region where residents have knowledge, skills, and access to resources. The community in which we serve is a rapidly growing suburban and rural region. The VISTA member placed at the agency will assist in developing an asset integration program, which aims to facilitate the integration of asset building services into other NeighborImpact departments, while increasing the visibility of the asset building programs within the community. AmeriCorps VISTA members perform only indirect service; interaction with clients will be limited and the member will spend the majority of his or her time in an office setting. However, NeighborImpact’s VISTA will play a dynamic role in ending poverty by building capacity at NeighborImpact by supporting a continuum of services designed to meet clients where they are, with the goal of helping them build wealth, improve their standard of living, and better overcome emergencies. As a NeighborImpact VISTA you will be part of a cohort coordinated by Mercy Corps Northwest. Early applications strongly encouraged. Selections made on a rolling basis.

Member Duties : The VISTA will expand the effectiveness of NeighborImpact as an anti-poverty organization by reducing barriers to access, promoting awareness of the resources they offer, and ensuring that existing NeighborImpact clients have a clear path to services that help them build assets and improve their economic situations in the long term. Bend is an outdoor adventure paradise with 300 days of sunshine, and situated just 2 hours away from Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or 2 years relevant experience, excellent writing skills, comfort with public speaking, & familiarity with social media platforms. Preference given to those with experience in an economically diverse and rural environment, bilingual Spanish speaking preferred. A car and good driving record required.
