TC Habitat for Humanity ABWK Facilitator
 
 
 
Habitat for Humanity takes an integrated approach to solving Minnesota’s housing issues by building new homes, remodeling foreclosed homes and repairing existing houses through the A Brush with Kindness Program to ensure they do not fall in to disrepair. Our AmeriCorps members are deeply involved in all of these strategies and responsible for recruiting, supervising and/or training community volunteers. The members enable Habitat to engage more volunteers in its work with the end goal of providing safe, decent, affordable shelter to qualified families. The ABWK Facilitator provides direct support to ABWK Site Supervisors, Construction Assistants, ABWK volunteers and homeowners painting and rehabilitating Habitat homes. Members will serve four ten-hour days per week. Essential Responsibilities • Assist Supervisors to prepare ABWK sites for daily paint & rehabilitation activities o Review plans with Site Supervisors to determine required materials and tools • Serve as a member of ABWK crews, performing various paint and construction tasks as assigned by Supervisors, building cooperatively with volunteers and homeowners • As assigned, lead volunteer and homeowner crews o Communicate assignments o Teach appropriate use of materials and tools o Answer questions and provides assignment feedback • Participate in AmeriCorps-related activities as assigned o Attend orientation at beginning of service o Participate in scheduled affiliate, program and statewide AmeriCorps events

Member Duties : ABWK Facilitators will provide support to Site Supervisors, ABWK volunteers and homeowners in the painting and rehabilitation of existing homes of qualified low-income homeowners. They will help prepare sites for volunteer activities 3-5 days/week, assist in assigning tasks, lead crews of volunteers and homeowners on site, demonstrate safety and tool usage, and participate in AmeriCorps-related trainings and projects.
