Ocean Discovery Institute - Technology and Evaluation

In preparation for opening our new science education facility to our community, Ocean Discovery Institute invested in new technologies and implemented new approaches to enhance our visitor and member engagement and management efforts, and our program management and evaluation efforts. These systems are critical to managing our facility and programs and to, ultimately, best serving our community. The Technology and Evaluation VISTA will serve as a critical capacity building resource to ensure that our technologies are realizing their purpose in engaging our community as well as in helping us manage our programs efficiently. The Technology and Evaluation VISTA will support our newly implemented visitor engagement, and program management technologies. S/he will facilitate a positive interface with organizational technology for our visitors and staff and will serve as a troubleshooting resource, incorporating learnings and enhancements into our associated best practices manuals. Our Technology and Evaluation VISTA will support evaluation of our out-of-school programs and organization-wide evaluation efforts through organizing large external data sets and comparing and analyzing internal and external data sets and assess how our new technology can assist in these processes. S/he will work closely with our Program Management and Evaluation VISTA to provide important feedback that will help staff refine these processes/functions to best address the needs of our community and organization.
