Neighborhood Legal Services VISTA
 
 
 
Neighborhood Legal Services of Michigan is metro Detroit's only organization of it's kind offering legal advocacy, law related education and other academic youth centered programming and supportive services for youth and families. Programming including a housing program, law services, elder law services and children's education. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will be working in the Children's Education Department which provides financial literacy and education, teaches entrepreneurship, provides parenting workshops and professional development as well as conflict resolution and STEAM programming.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will review current data collection processes throughout the various programs and make suggestions on improvements. The member will conduct a community needs assessment to identify gaps in programming, and make recommendations on implementing new programming. They will design a curriculum to provide professional development/educational programming throughout Wayne County schools and network with other providers/organizations. The member will research potential grants and funders and create and implement a fundraising plan.
