KCADV - Economic Empowerment Corps
 
 
 
Economic Empowerment Specialists will: 1) Provide financial education classes, credit reports and one-on-one credit counseling, 2) Help survivors open Individual Development Accounts (car, classic or matched savings), 3) Help survivors obtain micro loans, 4) Help survivors apply for emergency assistance, public benefits and other social services 5) Help survivors find transitional or permanent housing 6) Teach job-readiness classes 7) Recruit volunteers to assist with financial education classes and other shelter-related services Youth Empowerment Specialist will: 1) Run an educational/tutoring program for children at domestic violence programs 2) Connect children to emergency assistance, public benefits and other social services 3) Assist with and advocate for children with the local school district 4) Organize educational outings 6) Provide age-appropriate financial education and economic empowerment programming for children and teenagers

Member Duties : Economic Empowerment Corps members offer a comprehensive array of services aimed at helping survivors become economically self-sufficient. EEC Members will help survivors find housing, employment, pursue an education, and even purchase homes. The empowerment specialists will offer financial education classes and credit counseling, and other financial education and capability services.
