Tandem, Partners in Early Learning-Contra Costa
 
 
 
Tandem’s programming provides high-quality, age-appropriate, multilingual children’s books to children and families. Our staff deliver training for educators and families and work to build a strong community-wide commitment to support children’s early learning. Our Community engagement VISTAs will assist in organizing community-based early learning and literacy workshops and events for families, educators, and professionals whose children are in formal and informal care settings. They will recruit candidates for Tandem’s Literacy Champions program and support preparation for training and volunteer activities. Collaboration with local service agencies will help them to develop activities and events that support families served at their sites. Our member will enhance community partnerships that facilitate our role as an early learning provider in the Bay area while also supporting the development of new implementation tools and materials for educators and families, as identified by program staff.
