OSMRE VISTA Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition

This work requires leadership or participation in two projects: 1) Help coordinate the Cabin Creek Clinic solar panel installation project to keep the clinic running during power outages and serve as a model for renewable energy options. The VISTA will assist OVEC staff in not only working with the Director of the Clinic, but also members of our coalition partners, to see the project through to completion. 2) Work with OVEC staff and Boys and Girls Club employees to expand our current gardening project. One goal is to construct Outdoor Learning Environments at the two Huntington Boys and Girls Clubs. Another goal is to develop entrepreneurial opportunities around local food production. For example, the VISTA would help us install more raised beds and help with our plans for year-round gardening so the kids can sell surplus vegetables at the local food market located near the OVEC office. Applications are reviewed and the position will be filled on a rolling basis. Please apply early to be considered.
