The Center for Cultural Technology (CCT) is an outgrowth of an ongoing partnership between the Media Arts Program at New Mexico Highlands University and the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. CCT is envisioned as a national Center of Excellence in the domain of cultural technology, the rapidly emerging field at the intersection between new digital media and cultural content. The Center for Cultural Technology is working with cultural institutions throughout the state to provide opportunities and job training for New Mexico Highlands University Media Arts students within 12 credit hours of graduation and recent graduates of the program. First priority is given to New Mexico Highlands University students and recent graduates.

Member Duties : Under supervision of Photo Curator, Daniel Kosharek and archivist Emily Brock, the member will improve collections preservation and access. Tasks will include: • Prioritizing films and videos for digitization and preservation • Cleaning and rehousing 8mm, Super8, and 16mm film • Transfering analog film to digital files using Archives’ software and equipment (RetroScan Universal, Final Cut Pro, etc.) • Preparing and editing digital files for upload to server (preservation copies) and to online digital collections (access copies) Creating snippets and descriptive metadata Creating electronic finding aids Assisting Archivists with at least one public film showing
