Member Duties : Under supervision of Photo Curator, Daniel Kosharek and archivist Emily Brock, the member will improve collections preservation and access. Tasks will include:
• Prioritizing films and videos for digitization and preservation
• Cleaning and rehousing 8mm, Super8, and 16mm film
• Transfering analog film to digital files using Archives’ software and equipment (RetroScan Universal, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
• Preparing and editing digital files for upload to server (preservation copies) and to online digital collections (access copies)
Creating snippets and descriptive metadata
Creating electronic finding aids
Assisting Archivists with at least one public film showing
