AmeriCorps Partnering to Protect Children

In 2016-2017 the AmeriCorps Partnering to Protect Children (APPC) program is being administered through Iowa State University’s Child Welfare Research and Training Project. Funding is provided, in part, by the Corporation of National Community Service (CNCS). AmeriCorps members provide technical assistance and support aimed at building the capacity of the local agency to implement evidence-informed and evidence-based prevention strategies that align with the CPPC key strategies (Shared Decision Making, Neighborhood Networking, Individualized Course of Action, and Practice Change). Member activities focus on providing assistance to build systems and supports to increase host site capacity to increase collaborations among local stakeholders and to recruit/manage community volunteers who engage with the Community Partnership in a coordinated response.
