Member Duties : - Work directly with Community Soup kitchen staff to prepare and serve meals directly to clients.
- Ensure that meal counts are carried out and inputted into Elijah’s Promise databases.
- Work with youth volunteer groups and speaking to public school students about food security and Elijah’s Promise.
- Engage guests of the soup kitchen and help them with matters pertaining to food and connecting them with social service staff
- Program special events and celebrations for guests at the soup kitchen throughout the year.
- Engage volunteers serving at the soup kitchen by leading activities, preparing handouts, and coordinating volunteer opportunities.
- Schedule and coordinate classes including scheduling instructors and securing locations.
- Food processing of procured foods for use in the agency and Culinary Training program.
