| Member Duties : The Community Engagement VISTA will help rural Texas communities improve Local School Wellness Policies, analyze the need for additional summer feeding sites, expand access to local foods, increase meal participation, and engage elected officials on how to participate and lead local wellness-related efforts. Through outreach and education, VISTAs will help their assigned communities understand the availability of TDA administered programs for children and find collaborative and cooperative, social and economic solutions for alleviating long-term hunger among the most vulnerable in their communities – their youth.
