2017-2018 Nez Perce Tribe Community Development Assistant
 
 
 
The Nez Perce Economic and Community Development Planning program seeks to assist low-income tribal members on the reservation to become effective civic leaders to better serve the community in which they live and to assist with strengthening small business development on the reservation with both efforts accomplished through existing programs. The focus is on community revitalization, financial literacy events, and skills building for scholarship applications among the high school population.

Member Duties : VISTA members will have the opportunity to be actively involved in a diverse community of primarily Native American people in project development including recruiting and guiding community members in civic organization and financial literacy training in such areas as: developing program policies, community development planning, conducting and arranging training for existing community organizations, identify community resources, researching and writing grants, coordinating efforts between all groups for mutual benefit, data collection, analysis and reporting.
