Arizona Ready for College and Career

Arizona Ready for College and Career is recruiting for 35 Full Time and 30 Part Time positions to serve at different locations throughout Arizona (Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott, Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, Kingman, Cottonwood, Sedona, Holbrook, etc). Through this project CSI@NAU will place 65 AmeriCorps members who will prepare students for on-time high school graduation and college enrollment in low-income communities and Title 1 schools in Arizona whose on-time high school graduation rates are lower than the national average of 81.4%. The member will receive training in college access from the Arizona College Access Network and Northern Arizona University. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with positions starting September 20th, September 27th, October 4th, mid-January, and early March. Full time positions will be eligible for health care coverage and child care reimbursement.

Member Duties : All AmeriCorps members in this project will work with high school aged youth on college and career readiness modules as well as FAFSA completion. Depending on the site the member is placed at, the member may have other duties related to preparing youth to be successful in graduating high school on time and transitioning to post-secondary education and career opportunities. This could include tutoring, teaching test preparation workshops, leading college tours, mentoring teenagers, or assisting families with free tax preparation and FAFSA completion. Some positions will require the member to travel to do outreach for youth in rural areas of Arizona. In general, any positions that are not located in Phoenix will require some travel for outreach. Applicants for these positions must possess a valid drivers license or be able to attain one before starting the position and must have a clean driving record.
