TxCC Conservation & Disaster Crew Member
 
 
 
Texas Conservation Corps Conservation & Disaster Crew Members serve for a 6 month term, in which they work together to complete conservation and disaster mitigation projects on public lands! Projects include felling of hazardous trees, installation of erosion control barriers, fire fuels mitigation, clearing and restoration of trails, habitat restoration and invasive species management. These teams remain on call for local and national disasters, and are able to deploy at short notice for 30-60 days. A term as a crew member with Texas Conservation Corps is both a challenging and rewarding experience that you will remember for the rest of your life!

Member Duties : All members serving with the Texas Conservation Corps’ Conservation & Disaster Program serve a 6 month term. They work full time on environmental conservation projects, and are asked to deploy to disaster response efforts. Members participate in habitat restoration, trail maintenance, wildfire fuels management, and other environmental stewardship projects in the state of Texas and the surrounding region. No experience or skills required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard within a diverse crew environment. As a part of the national AmeriCorps Disaster Response Teams (ADRT), members are part of a large network of AmeriCorps members that respond to disasters throughout the US. Members will have the opportunity to work closely with FEMA and TX Division of Emergency Management to assist in community recovery efforts after state or national disasters, while building skills in: Community Organization, Leadership, Emergency Management, and Humanitarian Aid.
