AZ Refugee Resettlement - Leader Position

The Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) VISTA Project is designed to support refugees’ effective resettlement in Arizona. Refugees face a wide variety of difficult challenges when resettling in a new country such as securing an affordable place to live, finding and retaining employment, acquiring a new language, learning how to access medical services, understanding the educational system, and learning about resources available to assist them in resettlement. A myriad of additional social, emotional, legal, and cultural challenges associated with everyday living also come into play. RRP has developed a 9 VISTA Project to address these issues and is now recruiting for a leader to help guide the Project. The VISTA Leader assignment will be placed in Phoenix, Arizona and will expand and build the capacity of the Project and its members by providing administrative upkeep, program guidance and member support. To be considered for this position you MUST have completed at least one year of service as a Peace Corps member, AmeriCorps member or as a VISTA member. This assignment will be best served by a candidate who has excellent community outreach techniques, strong written and verbal communications skills, project development experience, an intercultural awareness, cross cultural communication experience and an interest in developing solutions that will benefit refugees as they resettle into their new country. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of Arizona's refugees, please apply today. We will select the VISTA Leader by January 19th, 2021.
