Center For Family Services VISTA Leader
 
 
 
Center For Family Services (CFS) is a large and exciting nonprofit human services agency based in Camden, NJ. CFS provides counseling, parenting education, substance abuse treatment, safe and supportive housing, early childhood education, and crisis intervention to children, individuals, and families throughout New Jersey. CFS sponsors the largest AmeriCorps VISTA program in South Jersey and recently developed VISTA partnerships with several other nonprofits in the Camden community. We are recruiting a VISTA Leader to support the success of our program through recruitment and VISTA member relations. As our VISTA Leader, you will develop activities to enhance members’ term such as professional development trainings, service projects, monthly social gatherings, appreciation lunches, and monthly check ins. You will support members in sharing the success of their projects through numbers reporting and written narratives. We are excited to work with someone who is committed to creating positive experiences for the up to 28 members who will serve with our VISTA Program. Start dates are available once per month. Member Duties : In this position, you will: 1) Assist in the recruitment process of VISTA members including screening interviews, tracking, and orientation, 2) Work with current members to complete their monthly and quarterly reporting, 3) Plan monthly service projects, professional development opportunities, and fellowship events, 4) Communicate with VISTA supervisors as members begin and complete their terms, 5) Maintain records and databases of VISTA member information, and 6) Support members to complete their terms with satisfaction and success. This position is a great opportunity to learn about volunteer recruitment, leadership and team building, and supportive volunteer management. This position requires pre-service drug screening and criminal background checks.
