Texas Conservation Corps - Conservation & Disaster Response
 
 
 
Texas Conservation Corps members continue the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) by participating in National Service throughout Texas. The Conservation Crew Member position is a full-time, 1700 hour term of service, in which members work are a state and regional resource for conservation and disaster mitigation services. Projects include but are not limited to felling of hazardous trees, installation of erosion control barriers, fire fuels mitigation, clearing and restoration of trails, post-emergency volunteer and donations management, habitat restoration and invasive species management. A term as a crew member with Texas Conservation Corps is both a challenging and rewarding experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.

Member Duties : Serving with the Texas Conservation Corps’ Team, Members serve 11 months, work full time on environmental conservation projects, and are asked to deploy to disaster response efforts. Members participate in Habitat restoration, trail maintenance, wildfire fuels management, and other environmental stewardship projects in state of Texas. No experience or skills required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard within a diverse crew environment. As a part of the national AmeriCorps Disaster Response Team (ADRT), members are part of a large network of AmeriCorps members that respond to disasters throughout the US. Members will have the opportunity to work closely with FEMA and TX Dept. of Emergency Management to assist in community recovery efforts after state or national disasters, while building skills in: Community Organization, Leadership, Emergency Management, and Humanitarian Aid.
