Boys & Girls Club Flint Character & Leadership Development
The Character & Leadership Development VISTA member will work to improve the program and activities related to character and leadership in the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint. This VISTA member will also engage Club members, ages 7 to 17, in the community through service projects performed by Torch Club and Keystone Club, as part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America character and citizenship priority outcome. Additionally, this service member will assist with looking at membership trends to determine how to best recruit and retain youth in the program. This member will also work with community organizations to strengthen programs and services offered to youth in Flint.

Member Duties : This service member will work to increase the engagement of members in the community with the Boys & Girls Club program. This includes seeking community service projects for Torch Club and Keystone Club members to participate in for service learning. This VISTA member will also work to engage volunteers in specific programs that need extra assistance, as identified by program staff. With support from CEO, Director of Programs & Operations, Unit Director and Program Coordinators, this VISTA member will engage community members with specific goals for helping the organization. Additionally, the service member will become familiar with the database the organization uses to track and analyze various statistics of members. This includes assessing what the organization can best implement for recruitment and retention of Club members.
