Boys & Girls Club Flint 2020 Wellness Advocate VISTA
 
 
 
The Wellness Advocate VISTA will focus on the Boys & Girls Clubs of America program "Triple Play", which incorporates programs and activities to serve the mind, body and soul of youth. In the aftermath of the Flint Water Crisis, the Wellness Advocate VISTA will introduce nutrition that can be used to mitigate the effects of lead in the body. Additionally, working with community members and staff at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint to incorporate programs on mindfulness, including mental and physical health to the youth we serve.

Member Duties : This VISTA member will work to increase the awareness of Triple Play: Mind, Body & Soul activities to Club members. Additionally, this service member will create a method of tracking participation and attendance by Club members in these programs. They will work with the CEO, Director of Programs and Operations, Unit Director and Program Coordinators to utilize community partnerships to ensure success of Triple Play programs. This focus will be to strengthen the programs and services offered to youth so they can lead a healthy lifestyle, with a proper diet of nutritious foods and participation in physical fitness activities.
