19-20 STEM Ecosystem VISTA - Kansas City

The ecosySTEM KC, in partnership with the Afterschool Alliance and the STEM Funders Network, is embarking on exciting work to expand the amount of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education opportunities offered in informal learning spaces. To increase these types of opportunities for children and youth, better coordination, increased partnerships and additional funding are all necessary. The ecosySTEM KC VISTA will build cross-sector partnerships within the greater Kansas City community, identify needs and gaps in service by geographic region, grade level, content area, and program type, and develop a central point of information and resources (a STEM Hub) as well as a communication plan for public outreach. The ecosySTEM KC learning network is overseen by a Core Team comprised of four STEM agencies, and provides opportunities to establish a clear vision, uniform collaboration, and shared outcomes that can be replicated, sustained, and accessible by all youth.
