CA STEM Ecosystem VISTA - San Diego

The San Diego EcosySTEM, in partnership with the Afterschool Alliance and the STEM Funders Network, is embarking on exciting work to expand the amount of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education opportunities offered in informal learning spaces. To increase these types of opportunities for children and youth, better coordination, increased partnerships and additional funding are all necessary. VISTAs will develop a framework for cross-sector collaboration by identifying assets and gaps within the San Diego STEM Ecosystem, develop partnership-building practices among organizational partners and in- and out-of-school education providers, establish systems and practices to increase the county-wide STEM Ecosystem capacity, and participate in related funding processes. The San Diego EcosySTEM will mobilize new and existing stakeholders to collaborate across sectors so that youth will experience connected STEM learning.
