19-20 STEM Ecosystem VISTA - Medford
 
 
 
Oregon’s Statewide Network of Regional STEM Hubs, in partnership with the Afterschool Alliance and the STEM Funders Network, is embarking on exciting work to expand the amount of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education opportunities offered in informal learning spaces. To increase these types of opportunities for children and youth, better coordination, increased partnerships and additional funding are all necessary. VISTAs will build capacity for common communications within the statewide STEM Hub network and develop recruitment materials to attract industry professionals interested in engaging with educations and students. The Statewide Network of Regional STEM Hubs is a large-scale ecosystem that embraces the notion that education is a collective responsibility and that learning takes place throughout one’s life in all manner of settings and interactions. This position is based in Medford, OR. Member Duties : - Recruit and establish new Chief Science Officer programs in southern Oregon school districts - Plan and execute the 2019 Chief Science Officer Leadership Institute - Establish and maintain relationships with community partners and volunteers interested in support STEM education
