19-20 STEM Ecosystem VISTA at STEM East
 
 
 
STEM East is a community of practice recognized by the STEM Learning Ecosystems Initiative. In partnership with the Afterschool Alliance and the STEM Funders Network, STEM East is embarking on exciting work to expand the amount of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education opportunities offered in diverse learning spaces. These types of opportunities are made more accessible to low-income youth through expanding local partnerships, coordinating community-led STEM activities, and more. The VISTA at STEM East will map STEM assets in the community, collaborate with regional and statewide out-of-school time leaders to identify resources available to expand STEM programs, and develop partnerships. This position is based in Greenville, NC. Member Duties : The STEM Ecosystem VISTA will collaborate with regional and statewide out-of-school time leaders to identify available STEM resources and facilitate a regional network discussion focused on seeking and sharing STEM instructional resources, particularly focusing on support for low-income communities. The STEM Ecosystem VISTA will also develop a recruitment plan to create STEM afterschool partnerships and strengthen existing local partnerships. Mapping of existing resources will be completed to identify where gaps in service exist, and then to inform partners and intermediaries about these needs.
