Communities In Schools of Georgia AmeriCorps Members are challenged to fully participate in a cohesive, diverse, task-oriented team focused on school-based programming, service project implementation, and general leadership development. Members will be committed to community service, supporting the public school system and the individual student by engaging families, teachers, community members and corporations in education. Some ways in which you will do this include: Tutoring Program Development Program Training Volunteer Management Special Events and Projects

Member Duties : Provide a minimum of 900 hours of approved service to the assigned service school site Serve a minimum 25 hours per week from September 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. Provide tutoring through one-on-one or small groups in 30-minute sessions 3 times per week. Work with designated school staff to identify students and materials to be used during tutoring sessions Provide additional support for students in the classroom or after school activities Keep logs and records of student progress and activities that support the objectives of the tutoring process Participate in meetings, member development training, and other activities Provide quarterly and service project reports Recruit at least 3 community volunteers to tutor and participate in service projects Other assignments as requested and allowable as part of the AmeriCorps program
