Community Revitalization through a Solar Economy

Help transition the economy of Delta County to be more resilient through local energy solutions by: 1) Educate public about renewable energy, including benefits of building a stronger local market through renewables. By increasing the local appetite for renewable energy, we can create increased employment opportunities regionally. 2) Coordinate with government and nonprofit organizations to better mobilize energy efficiency and renewable energy for income-qualified households and to increase access to cost effective local solutions. 3) Aid in providing energy literacy in our K-12 schools and support our Solar in Schools outreach. Implement the recently developed vocational training High School program and support utility’s interest to expand solar installs on regional schools. 4) Work with the Executive Director and SEI Board to promote and fundraise for the expansion of this program into communities across the country, with an emphasis on rural-electric cooperatives.
