SOTS - Oyate Teca Youth Activities Summer Associate

The Summer Associates will help develop and support youth activities for Oyate Teca. Oyate Teca is a non-profit organization that is centrally located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and provides local, grassroots, culturally-based programming to the youth in that area of the reservation. This program will impact poverty by providing youth with a safe, secure environment to engage in constructive activities with caring adults, mentors, and their peers. This will allow youth to prepare to make positive choices and experience success.

Member Duties : Members will develop activities in the areas of educational, recreational, and community gardening, and will then implement these activities with local children while serving as positive adult role models for them. Members will also collect feedback from children participating in the activities to see which ones they are enjoying and what changes, if any, should be made. Finally, members will keep all information on activities that were developed for use in future summer programs.
