Housing Assistance System

The Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI) is seeking a motivated and talented VISTA member to support regional efforts to prevent and end homelessness. This VISTA member will work with MDHI and local partners in the seven county Metro Denver region. As part of the project, Coordinated Access and Housing Placement System (CAHPS), AmeriCorps VISTA members will collaborate with the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI) and other community partners to implement a coordinated region-wide approach to assess the needs of those at-risk of or experiencing homelessness, prioritize housing and service resources, and match individuals and families with appropriate resources. This position is part of a Metro Denver Homeless Initiative VISTA program, that supports a team of VISTA members working throughout the Denver Metro area on local and regional efforts to prevent and end homelessness.

Member Duties : Key Responsibilities Include: 1. Assist in implementation and expansion of Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement System (CAHPS) 2. Promote MDHI meetings and other regional opportunities to local stakeholders 3. Participate in monthly regional AmeriCorps VISTA Project meetings 4. Contribute content and dashboard data for CAHPS website and community newsletter 5. Evaluate CAHPS using focus groups, surveys and follow-up calls for people with lived experience 6. Assist in developing protocols for linking those in need with appropriate local resources 7. Assist with creation of CAHPS training curriculum and course registrations for community providers 8. Coordinate with Landlords Opening Doors campaign to increase available rental units offered to voucher holders 9. Other priorities identified by local site and VISTA member
