Project YES! connects caring adults with youth in and around the West Town Community. Members serve the community through mentorship, educational, service, artistic, and recreational activities. The opportunities are offered through in/out classroom programming and our community service projects. The goal of the program is to support the students academic achievements, provide alternatives to destructive behaviors, and foster an ethic of serve in the entire community.

Member Duties : Project YES! partners with public schools in and around the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. Members will be assigned to one site for the program year to have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with students and teachers. While at the site members will be partnered with classroom teachers to assist in all aspects of the academic curriculum. Members will also implement afterschool programming based on the needs of the school. Regular training sessions will help members to better serve their schools and community, and give the members the opportunity to plan quality service events. Trainings will include: classroom management, community awareness, planning effective volunteer projects, and civic engagement. Project YES! is a team based corporative environment that encourages members to work together to increase understanding in the schools as well as increasing volunteerism in the community.
