Early Learning & Family Outreach Coordinator

Racine County University of Wisconsin Extension’s purpose is to teach, learn, lead and serve, connecting people to University of Wisconsin, and engaging them in transforming lives and communities. UW-Extension responds to local needs through education and partnerships that support stability and well-being of families and strengthens the community, and helps youth develop skills and self-confidence needed to succeed in today’s competitive world. This position will focus on engaging families of young children in alignment with the Higher Expectations of Racine County Youth – Kindergarten Readiness Network to improve outcomes of children and families. Parents play an important role as their child’s first teacher in fostering early learning, and continue to play a critical role in their child’s academic success after they enter school. The project seeks to foster family involvement and decision-making by engaging families in the design and implementation of workshops/events that will reduce disparities and empower parents in their role as their child’s first teacher.
