The Road Home is a private non-profit social service agency that assists individuals and families with children experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County and along the Wasatch Front. The mission of The Road Home is to assist families and individuals in stepping out of homelessness and back into the community. Last year, The Road Home provided emergency shelter to 7,219 individuals (men, women and children) as well as served 1,301 individuals through our housing programs. The Road Home is the sponsor of the TRH Health Futures VISTA project which aims to ensure individuals and families experiencing homelessness have access to all appropriate services and assistance for which they are eligible.

Member Duties : The primary objective of the Healthy Futures VISTA team member position is to increase client access to appropriate services. The VISTA team member will assess current agency and client needs and service provisions around behavioral health and Medicaid services. Utah is a state that did not originally accept Medicaid expansion, but has recently allowed for some expanded services. The VISTA team member will research and monitor proposed changes and ensure our agency and clients have the most up to date information regarding access to services. The team member will engage in community meetings and committees around changing community Medicaid issues. Additionally, the VISTA team member will create documentation and trainings to help staff and case managers better understand Medicaid issues and resources. VISTA member will work to identify all available health care resources for Utah's homeless, creating resource materials for the individuals we serve.
