Intermountain AmeriCorps is an established AmeriCorps team with a 25 year history of meeting critical needs in North Central Washington. We strive to have a diverse, dedicated, and adventurous team of individuals from across the country. Our members utilize their skills, abilities, and enthusiastic awesomeness to build capacity in area non-profit organizations in Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan Counties. We believe in creating a meaningful community with an active network and support among our AmeriCorps members. This Intermountain AmeriCorps VISTA will serve at Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council and will focus on increasing the scale and reach of programs that center on addressing food insecurity and hunger in the community. Member Duties : Jumpstart your professional experience and fight hunger in North Central Washington. Intermountain AmeriCorps is searching for a full time VISTA member to build capacity in the food insecurity work being done by Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council. You will focus on increasing the scale and reach of programs that center on addressing food insecurity and hunger in the community with programs such as the Green Bag and Empty Bowls programs. These national grass roots efforts have been localized to make a difference in North Central Washington. You would be recruiting community volunteers and providing them with meaningful experiences as well as strengthening partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders.
